The Board of Education is comprised of five residents elected to serve overlapping terms of four years. Composed of business and group leaders, the State Board represents the varied population of Arkansas. The Board consists of 11 members (9 voting members and two non-voting members) appointed by the Governor with the recommendation and consent of the Senate.
Board of Schooling conferences are streamed live on the District web site, and televised on WDMC TV Cablevision Channel 75, and Verizon FiOS Channel 38. The public is invited to deal with the Trustees of the Board of Schooling on school district coverage issues throughout the Communications from the Neighborhood Classes held at 7:00 p.m. prior to the Stated Assembly. When discussing sure matters, as determined by the Code of Alabama, the board may transfer into closed session.
The first meeting of each month is a work session, held on the Board of Schooling Administration Building, 1111 Superior Avenue E, Cleveland, and devoted primarily to information gathering, discussion and deliberation on points or subjects for future Board enterprise meetings.
The Board of Training holds regular monthly conferences, open to the public, on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. Conferences are held on the Authorities Center, 600 East Fourth Road, Charlotte, NC 28202, until indicated in any other case on the meeting schedule.
